Careful When You Cross the Street - It's St. Patrick's Day

Just ran in to the house still reeking of smoke.  The air is brisk, my hands are frozen and I can't feel my feet.  The neighbors are having a St. Patrick's Day party in their driveway.  Not being Irish I always feel a little bit like an imposter.  Adding insult to faux Irish, my long overcoat is a striking emerald green.  I'm one of the lucky ones because I live right next door to the festivities.  I don't even need to cross the street to find a place where I can't see my breath.

St. Patrick's Day is a day to drink and I think it's funny that the neighbors have put the inanimate yellow crossing guard at the end of their driveway.  Is that for the kids or is it for adult friends whose homes can be reached by a vehicle they purchased at the scooter store.

Nobody has a better time at a St. Patrick's Day party than the host.  The host is always 100% Irish with a name like O'Reilly, O'Malley or Old McDonald.  He's wearing the best get-up - green hair, green hat, green face.  His outfit is so outrageous he could just as easily pull it out again at Halloween.

An outdoor St. Patrick's Day Party is sure to be a success when the temperature only hits 32 degrees.  What better way to stay warm than drinking a cold one?  The green beer went down as fast as it might come back up.  The Irish are a proud bunch and they sure know how to throw a party ... So glad I could find my way home.
